1. Complete a Prelicensing Course

If you would like to sell insurance in New York, you must complete an approved line of prelicensing education and pass the state licensing exam.
View Courses

When you satisfy the requirements for your course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion and A.D Banker will report your course completion directly to the state. Prelicensing education does not expire in the state of New York. New York requires all prelicensing students to pass a Certification Exam in order to receive a Certificate of Completion for their education.

As of 11/02/2020 - The Certification Exams from an online course no longer require and exam monitor.  Students who take an in-classroom course will be able to take this exam at the end of their class.
